Dr Tessa King (Tess) is a specialist women’s health general practitioner (GP) at Jean Hailes (Telehealth appointments only).
In addition to seeing and treating all aspects of women’s health, Tess has an interest in female hormones and their effect on mood and cognitive function during the different phases of the menstrual cycle, post partum and during perimenopause/menopause.
She is passionate about supporting women in all phases of their life and transforming their quality of life through evidence based mindfulness, nutrition, exercise, allied health and meditation.
She has worked as a medical content expert, reviewing course materials, health professional guidelines, patient information sheets and delivering webinars for Jean Hailes. She has also appeared as a women’s health expert on Triple J and ABC radio, and been interviewed by The Age, SBS, The Herald Sun, The Daily Telegraph and The Sydney Morning Herald.
In 2024 she worked as one of the Australian team doctors at the Olympics in Paris. Since 2021 she has been a part of the medical team for the Australian Open. In 2024 she is also working as a Match Day Support Doctor for the AFLW. She has recently started a mental health and women’s health clinic for athletes through 10 South in Geelong.
When she’s not working, she can be found training or competing in a CrossFit gym or hitting the slopes with her partner and 3 daughters who are all much better skiers than her.
