Child safe commitment
Our commitment to being a Child Safe Organisation
Jean Hailes for Women’s Health is committed to being a Child Safe Organisation and works actively to create an environment in which children and young people are:
- valued, respected and protected
- encouraged to thrive, empowered and informed about their rights
- encouraged and supported to participate in decisions.
We have a zero tolerance to any form of child abuse and neglect and actively respond to any safety concerns.
- We are committed to working in partnership with children, families and communities to support early intervention, reduce vulnerability and prevent harm to children.
- We recognise the importance of cultural safety for Aboriginal children and children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds and proactively establish practices which are culturally respectful and inclusive.
- We are committed to equitable access to services for children of all abilities and identities.
- We embed child safety and wellbeing through strong governance, leadership and decision-making practices.
- We have robust child safe recruitment practices and equip staff with appropriate training and supervision to identify and respond to child safety concerns.
- We actively seek feedback and treat all complaints, concerns and disclosures of suspected child abuse seriously and respond promptly and thoroughly.
