Migraine can be debilitating. Previous international research shows that migraine disproportionately affects women, but it is not known how common it is among women in Australia. This report combines findings from the 2025 National Women’s Health Survey (NWHS) and Migraine in Australian Women project to provide up-to-date national estimates of migraine prevalence, as well as insight into how the condition affects women in Australia.
This report is one of a series from the 2025 National Women’s Health Survey, a representative survey of Australian women aged 18 and over. The Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing has funded Jean Hailes for Women’s Health to conduct the annual National Women’s Health Survey since 2017.
