Intrauterine devices (IUD) are among the most effective forms of contraception available. Yet, results from the 2024 National Women’s Health Survey show that uptake is low and that most Australian women feel they do not know much about them. Even among those who feel they know everything about IUDs, only 1 in 3 correctly identified them as the most effective form of contraception.
