Jean Hailes Women’s Health Week is coming up September 1 to 5 and getting involved is easier than you think.
To get you started, our campaigns manager Sarah Halpin shares 5 simple yet powerful ways to be a part of the national celebration.
One of the many things I love about Women’s Health Week is that you can celebrate in any way that works for you and your community.
Whether you’re running an event or starting a conversation, the week is about sharing health information that matters to you.
This year, the theme is ‘Say yes to you’ and it’s all about empowering women to prioritise their health and wellbeing.
With this in mind, here are 5 ways you can do your bit for women’s health.
One of the easiest ways to support Women’s Health Week is to spread the word online with our free downloadable social tiles. All you have to do is choose your favourites and post away.
We love seeing what people get up to during the week, so if you host an event, please share photos and tag us. #WomensHealthWeek #JeanHailes #SayYesToYou
When we talk about health, we combat shame and stigma and help people feel less alone. So, call your friends and start a conversation that matters. Book in a cuppa or a lunch and have a chat this September. To help get the conversation started, explore our women’s health topics.
Getting some movement into your day has heaps of health benefits. So, grab your besties, neighbours and any four-legged friends and go for a walk. Or you could plan a walking work meeting.
Yoga sessions are a great option for some workplaces and community get-togethers. You can also try meditation sessions or breathing exercises, because having a healthy mind is just as important as supporting a healthy body.
Get into the spirit of Women's Health Week by adding splashes of colour to your workplace or community centre. Our promotional kits include free posters you can print and display, as well as bunting, an email signature banner and more. Don’t forget to snap a pic and tag us! #WomensHealthWeek #JeanHailes #SayYesToYou
However you choose to celebrate Women’s Health Week, every action counts. From a conversation to a community event, your support helps raise awareness and inspire others to prioritise their health. Remember to register your involvement, make the most of our promotional kits, explore our expert health resources and – most importantly – say yes to you!
