Telstra today announced that Jean Hailes for Women's Health is a state finalist in the Telstra Business Awards, in the Social Change Maker category.
The annual Telstra Business Awards showcase some of Australia's leading businesses, scrutinising essential markers of success such as innovation and technology, financial acumen, strategy and vision and organisational values. Nationally, around 10,000 businesses were nominated for the awards and 168 made the finals.
"We're thrilled to be in such good company," says Jean Hailes board member Janet Michelmore AO. "It's a rigorous process to be shortlisted so we feel honoured to have been acknowledged for our work as a not-for-profit, trying to help women be well informed about their health and wellbeing."
The Victorian finalists from four categories—Social Change Maker, Emerging & Energised, Small & Succeeding, Medium & Making Waves—will meet 31 July at an awards night, where the state-based winner will be announced. The winner from each state and territory will then compete for the national award on 20 September.
"We're an organisation that cares a lot—for the women of Australia, for our own staff and for our stakeholders," says Ms Michelmore. "Being nominated as a finalist reinforces that an organisation with a heart can also be a well-managed, financially savvy business with a strong mission."
