Quality Assurance

Thanks for visiting our website. We are proud to be a provider of quality women’s health information and resources for women and health professionals.

We know that people want information and answers about the topics we cover and we strive to make sure we provide this information based on evidence and presented in a way that ensures it is trustworthy and accurate. This is very important to us.

To make sure we are keeping this standard high, we have an organisational commitment to quality assurance. This is in the form of clear processes and targets that we set, and hold ourselves accountable to.

The following principles outline some of the ways that ensure we keep our quality standards high:

  1. We support a culture of quality and continuous learning in all levels of the organisation.
  2. We value and seek collaboration & partnerships with other organisations to inform and achieve a shared vision and/or purpose in women’s health.
  3. We collaborate in research partnerships as a translation or knowledge exchange partner. Jean Hailes uses its reach to inform health professionals and the public about relevant and important women’s health research findings.
  4. A rigorous quality assurance and approval process underpins the development and review of all our external-facing content, to ensure it:
    • is up-to-date
    • is based on the best available, high-quality evidence
    • integrates and embeds principles that address health literacy
  5. We evaluate and analyse the impact of the organisation’s various outputs.
  6. We will ensure we adhere to the funding, legal, financial, ethical and professional requirements in delivering our core business. We comply with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) regulations. We undertake an annual external audit against the Australian Accounting Standards.
  7. We receive funding from various sources, carefully selected and based on a shared commitment to improving women’s health. Funding is accepted on the basis that we maintain full editorial independence.
  8. We engage with consumers during the different phases of projects and content production: planning, development, delivery and evaluation.
