|
|
The Jean Hailes PCOS Service will officially open on the 17th February 2011 after the success of the pilot program held in November 2010.
Pilot Evaluation Snapshot Women reported the main reasons for attending the clinic were to receive a comprehensive assessment and to learn more about their PCOS. 100% of attendees indicated their expectations had been met, with all aspects of the clinic program reported as being very to extremely useful, with the education session and the endocrinologist consults scoring the highest. Women reported a considerable increase in their knowledge and confidence of their PCOS Management as a result of attendance at the program with 100% of the women attending indicated they would make lifestyle changes and 50% indicated they would utilise their GP more in their management.
Feedback from the women who attended the pilot clinic:
- Fantastic! Nice to know I’m not alone. Services lacking in country areas. Easy to get to for country patients.
- Great to have knowledge of PCOS from educated people.
- Before the clinic all I knew was that PCOS affected my fertility. After I had children I forgot about PCOS because I knew nothing about it. The information learnt is invaluable. I wish I knew it 10 years ago.
- Good to know the anxiety etc is related, and I’m not alone. It was really in-depth.
