PCOS and Insulin Resistance Study - control groups
Background
Insulin resistance is a hormone imbalance that can lead to polycystic ovary syndrome, diabetes and heart disease in later life. The cause of insulin resistance is not completely understood.
We are looking for women to participate in an insulin resistance study
Are you:
- A premenopausal female aged 18-40 years
- Not diagnosed with PCOS
- A non-smoker
- Non-diabetic
- Not taking the oral contraceptive pill
- Living in Victoria
Level of involvement:
- This study takes place at Monash Medical Centre Clayton
- Trial lasts up to 4 months
- Free medical review
- Free treadmill exercise test
- Free insulin resistance test
- Free blood and muscle tests
