PCOS and Insulin Resistance Study - women with PCOS
Background:
In Australia 1 in 5 women suffer from Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Of those, 68 per cent are undiagnosed. Insulin resistance plays a key role in PCOS that is not completely understood yet.
We are looking for women with PCOS to participate in an insulin resistance study

Are you:
- A premenopausal female aged 18-40 years
- Diagnosed with PCOS or have irregular periods when not taking the oral contraceptive pill
- Within healthy weight range
- A non-smoker
- Non-diabetic
- Living in Victoria
Level of involvement:
- This study takes place at Monash Medical Centre Clayton
- Trial lasts up to 4 months (during which time no medication for the condition can be taken)
- Free medical review
- Free treadmill exercise test
- Free insulin resistance test
- Free blood and muscle tests
