Assessing Diabetes and CVD Risk

Female volunteers wanted for study assessing diabetes and cardiovascular disease risk

We are looking for women aged 18-45 years

  • who are above average weight and have irregular periods or
  • excessive hair growth or
  • diagnosed polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or
  • diagnosed polycystic ovaries

We are looking for healthy women aged 18-45 years

  • who are above average weight and have normal periods

You may volunteer to be part of a study that looks at risk factors for diabetes and cardiovascular disease in women with and without Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.  

The study will involve:

  • simple blood tests to assess reproductive hormones and hormones associated with diabetes and cardiovascular disease,
  • questionnaires to assess your quality of life and
  • painless simple tests to assess your blood vessel function and body fat and muscle content.

You will have a free medical check and will be provided with your results if you participate.
