With bladder and bowel issues affecting one in three Australian women who have ever had a baby, Dr Anna Rosamilla and Ms Janetta Webb review the management of urinary incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse.
Presenters
Dr Anna Rosamilia Urogynaecologist, Southern Health
Dr Rosamilia MBBS, FRANZCOG, CU PhD, completed studies in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in 1995. Between 1996 and 2000 she completed sub specialist training in Uro-gynaecology. The following year she was awarded a PhD from Monash University for her ‘Studies of the Pathogenesis of Interstitial Cystitis’.
Dr Rosamilia is the Chief Examiner for the Urogynaecology Sub speciality Committee of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists. In 2004 she was appointed by the International Consensus on Incontinence, Monaco to the Committee on Painful Bladder. In June 2007 Dr Rosamilia was appointed as the Australian Representative to the Board of the International Urogynaecological Association. Currently Dr Rosamilia has an appointment at Monash Medical Centre, and heads the newly created ‘Pelvic Floor Clinic’. She is also in private practice at Cabrini Hospital and Waverley Private Hospital.
Janetta Webb, Pelvic Floor Physiotherapist, The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health
Janetta Webb is a Women's Health Physiotherapist with post-graduate training in Pelvic Floor Muscle Rehabilitation. She is the physiotherapist at the Jean Hailes Medical Centre for Women, works in Private Practice and is also a Senior Clinician, Physiotherapy at Monash Medical Centre.
She is currently Research Physiotherapist with the POPPY trial at the University of Melbourne, evaluating the efficacy of physiotherapy treatment for pelvic organ prolapse. She is passionate about access to health information and treatment for all women.
