Community information sessions are conducted across Australia in partnership with local health or community organisations.
Aim
The aim of the National Seminars Program is to provide women, and their families, who live in metropolitan, regional or rural areas of Australia with information about women's midlife health and wellbeing and ageing well.
Outline
In partnership with health and community organisations, at any location in Australia, The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health plans and conducts large community forums for women and their families. All aspects of the forum are decided by the partnership including which health issues are to be discussed, the format of the forum, promotional activities and financial implications. The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health also supports the forum through the provision of keynote speakers who are eminent in the field of women's health.
While each forum responds to the need of the women in the community, previous forums have included topics such as:
- Wellbeing at midlife
- Menopause and options for managing symptoms
- Complementary therapies at midlife
- Emotional health and wellbeing for women
