Women will have the opportunity to hear leading experts speak on issues related to healthy ageing at 12 noon on Saturday August 9 at the Longreach Civic Centre.
National organisation the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health has joined with North & West Queensland Primary Health Care to bring expert women's health speakers to the local community.
Come along to hear a range of information and practical tips on living and ageing well, including a naturopath's perspective.
Speakers include gynaecologist Dr Elizabeth Farrell and naturopath Sandra Villella from the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health, as well as local Mobile Women's Health Nurse Louise Cameron.
Dr Elizabeth Farrell says that women will have the opportunity to hear about what they can do to help themselves to live a healthy and fulfilling life. "We want women to know that taking small, sustainable steps can lead to a lifetime of good health and quality of life," she says. "There is so much we can do for ourselves to ensure that our health is on track as we age. Come along and find out how."
The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health is an independent, not-for-profit health foundation, largely funded by the federal government and private donations. The Foundation cares for the health and wellbeing of Australia's five million women aged 35 plus.
For bookings call (07) 4658 3622. Cost is $10, payable at the door (lunch and refreshments provided).
The Foundation will also be running a lunchtime session for health professionals and will include a ‘menopause and hormone therapy update, including a naturopath's approach' on Friday August 8 at the Glasson House, District Office Conference room.
