Life begins at MENOPAUSE?

Dr Liz Farrell

Dr Liz FarrellDr Elizabeth Farrell, MBBS, FRANZCOG, FRCOG is a gynaecologist and founding member of the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health. She is the Head of the Monash Medical Centre’s Menopause Unit and a private consultant. She is also an honorary senior lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash University. A popular speaker, her particular interest is in helping women effectively manage menopause. She is co-author of the HRT handbook.

She was awarded the science award in the prestigious Avon Spirit of Achievement Award in 1998 and an Inaugural Health Media Award in 2006.

Dr Farrell is the President of the Asia Pacific Menopause Federation for the triennium 2007-2010 and currently President Elect of the Australasian Menopause Society.

Dr Mandy Deeks

Dr Mandy DeeksDr Amanda Deeks BEd., ATCL, Grad Dip Psych., PhD, MAPS is a psychologist who specialises in the areas of early menopause, menopause and midlife, libido, depression, anxiety, eating disorders and body image. She has just published a book called “Life begins at menopause”.

Mandy currently works in private practice and consults as a psychologist at the Jean Hailes Foundation in the medical clinic, the education unit and the research unit. She is just about to undertake a large study which looks at why we choose healthy behaviours (and sometimes unhealthy behaviours), and how we can go about making healthier changes to our lives.

Educating, supporting, nurturing and encouraging women to look after their own health and emotional well-being, is very important to Mandy. 

Ms Sandra Villella

Ms Sandra VillellaMs Sandra Villella B.App.Sci. (Naturopathy), M.App.Sci (Acupuncture) is a Naturopath & Herbalist who has been in practice since 1994. She completed a Master of Applied Science in Acupuncture in 1999, and incorporates some Chinese medicine into her practice.

Sandra is a frequent and popular presenter at workshops and seminars for professional groups and the general public, both nationally and internationally.  Sandra consults at The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health and in inner Melbourne, Fairfield.
