Throughout 2008 the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health is partnering with Global TeleHealth to provide a series of professional development and education events delivered in person in Melbourne and via videoconference around Australia.
Presenters
Professor Peter Ebeling, Professor of Medicine, Head of Endocrinology, Department of Medicine, (RMH/WH) / Western Hospital, University of Melbourne.
Throughout his career Professor Ebeling has focused on metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis and particularly their link with Vitamin D deficiency.
Professor Ebeling is co-chair of the Australian Musculoskeletal Quality Improvement Programme and was previously president of the Australian and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society. He is regularly asked to speak at international and national scientific meetings. Professor Ebeling is also chairman of the Victorian State Committee of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
Dr Robin Daly, PhD, Associate Professor / Principal Scientist, Department of Medicine, Western Hospital, University of Melbourne.
Associate Professor Robin Daly has conducted extensive research into osteoporosis prevention particularly looking at the effects of nutrition and exercise. He has also published over 100 scientific papers and has been invited to present at a number of international scientific conferences and forums in the USA, Canada, Sweden and Finland.
Topics include:
- Osteoporosis: under-diagnosed and under-treated public health problem
- Management options including bisphosphonates and ONJ
- Preventative measures
- Interactive case study

NB: No site is eligible for Foundation funding if they do not have registered attendees. Any site without attendees will incur a cost.
