Women will have the opportunity to hear leading women’s health experts speak on living and ageing well on Thursday October 11 at the Wodonga Civic Centre in Wodonga.
National organisation, the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health, has joined with the City of Wodonga to bring expert women’s health speakers to the local community. The day is sponsored by the Department of Veterans’ Affairs and members of the Veteran community are welcome to attend.
The evening will include a wealth of information and practical tips on living and ageing well, including a naturopath’s approach.
Speakers include health educator Sue Reid and naturopath Sandra Villella from the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health, as well as an overview of local services from executive officer Susie Reid from Women’s Health Goulburn North East.
Naturopath Sandra Villella says that women coming along on the evening will have the opportunity to hear about choices and options, as well as the things they can do to help themselves to live a healthy and fulfilling life. “There is so much we can do ourselves for our health. Small, sustainable changes will make a big difference.”
This night is another great attraction forming part of the City of Wodonga’s Over 50’s Festival which runs from the 7th until the 14th of October. A full program of all the events for the week is available from the City of Wodonga offices or from the Council website: www.wodonga.vic.gov.au
The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health is an independent, not-for-profit health foundation, largely funded by the federal government and private donations. The Foundation cares for the health and wellbeing of Australia’s five million women aged 35 plus.
Cost is a gold coin donation at the door. Bookings can be made by telephoning City of Wodonga’s customer service officers on (02) 6022 9300.
