under diagnosed under treated - what can the health professional do
GP & HP Professional Development Activity
Obesity and physical inactivity represent a major health burden across Australia with around seven million Australians considered either overweight or obese.
This presentation focuses on the issue of obesity and its progression to other chronic health conditions including insulin resistance, polycystic ovarian syndrome, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. It also focuses on understanding the role of health related behaviours and risk perception in the prevention and management of such conditions.
This session will raise awareness of the need to focus on health issues in obesity and to screen for and to aggressively treat those with prediabetes, diabetes and cardiovascular disease.
