The health information provided on these websites is developed by Medical and Allied Health Professionals from the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health for use by Australian women and their health professionals. The guidelines and educational materials are based on current medical knowledge and are reviewed regularly.

Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a hormone or endocrine syndrome or group of clinical symptoms. PCOS (with clinical symptoms) affects between 5-10 per cent of all women of childbearing age.
