Continuum of adverse lifestyle, obesity, insulin resistance, insulin resistant syndromes.

The Jean Hailes Research Team is focusing on the continuum from adverse lifestyle, obesity, the metabolic syndrome and polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), gestational diabetes, pre-diabetes, diabetes and through to cardiovascular disease. The progression through this continuum is not inevitable and the research team’s focus is on both mechanisms of prevention and translation of evidence to optimise prevention.

Recruitment for Research Projects

We are keen to hear from women who would like to volunteer to participate in our projects. For studies that require clinical visits, participants will be required to attend The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health in Clayton, Victoria.

The criteria outlined for each study project is usually brief and is certainly not complete. Each woman will be required to meet all inclusion and exclusion criteria prior to being enrolled in any of the studies. This will be determined at the screening visits to The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health. For any queries please do not hesitate to contact us.

If you feel you meet the eligibility criteria listed in our projects and would like to volunteer for the various studies, please contact us and specify which particular study interests you.
