Experts to Answer Women’s Health and Hormone Questions at Two Key Events in Albury
Are you a woman in your 30s, 40s, 50s or beyond and have lots of questions about your health, menopause and emotional wellbeing?
Want to hear the latest in women’s health research and practice?
Have you, your family or friends had difficulties with managing your health and lifestyle, or had to deal with illnesses such as breast cancer and the hormonal roller coaster that can occur?
Australia’s leading women’s health organisation, The Jean Hailes Foundation, will join the Women’s Centre and Breast Care Support Network in Albury-Wodonga for two key women’s health events in March.
Local women will have the opportunity to hear from some of Australia’s midlife health experts about body image, relationships, lifestyle changes, menopause, hormone and alternative therapies, stress management, fitness (outside and in) and food on Friday 11 March.
On Thursday 10 March the Breast Care Support Network will host a special event specifically about health and hormone issues after breast cancer.
Experts speaking at the two events include hormone specialist Dr Helena Teede, naturopath Sandra Villella and psychologist Dr Amanda Deeks, all from The Jean Hailes Foundation.
“Hormones interact with our lifestyles, having a huge impact on our lives, particularly as we age, on our health, our heart and our weight. It’s very important that we take small, sustainable steps to lead us to a lifetime of good health and quality of life,” says Dr Teede. “There is much we can do for ourselves to ensure that our health is on track as we age.”
Local organisers, Karen Wise, women’s health worker from the Women’s Centre and Jenny Black, Regional breast care nurse in Albury-Wodonga, agree. “We encourage women to come along to these events to hear about the latest research from experts in the field and to ask any questions they may have.”
