Health experts to offer latest midlife information to women in Tasmania
Leading experts from the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health will update women in Tasmania at two special events on midlife health and wellbeing, including herbal and hormone therapies for menopause, self-management strategies including healthy eating, physical activity and emotional health and wellbeing.
Experts include hormone specialist Dr Helena Teede, naturopath Sandra Villella and psychologist Dr Amanda Deeks, all from The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health.
“Hormones interact with our lifestyles, having a huge impact on our lives, particularly as we age, on our health, our heart and our weight. It’s very important that we take small, sustainable steps to lead us to a lifetime of good health and quality of life,” says Dr Teede. “There is much we can do for ourselves to ensure that our health is on track as we age.”
Local organisers, coordinator of Women’s Health North Marion Edmondson and Rachael Atkins from Women’s Health South agree, saying: “We encourage women to come along to hear about the latest research from experts in the field and to ask any questions they may have.”
