Choices at Midlife – Health Session in Ballarat for Women
Australian Education Union (AEU) members are invited to attend a special midlife women’s health event at 7pm on Tuesday, June 6 at the hall of Ballarat Senior Secondary College, Barkly campus.
Health experts from the Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health will talk about menopause, treatment of symptoms including herbal and hormone therapies, self-management strategies including healthy eating and physical activity, emotional health and wellbeing.
The Foundation has formed a partnership with the AEU to educate women about health and wellbeing. The AEU is very aware that education is a demanding arena. It is keen to support its members in managing professional pressures and health issues.
Foundation GP Dr Marnie Newman and naturopath Ms Sandra Villella will talk about menopause, treatment of symptoms including herbal and hormone therapies, self-management strategies including healthy eating and physical activity, as well as emotional health and wellbeing. Women will also hear from local Ballarat health carers about local services. “These nights are always fabulous fun as well as offering realistic, independent health advice,” Dr Newman says.
The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women’s Health is the leader in women’s health education for Australian women and the country’s general practitioners.
