Successfully working with women and their health

A program for International Medical Graduates and rural doctors

The Jean Hailes Foundation for Women's Health in conjunction with PapScreen Victoria has developed this course with emphasis on rural practices. Specialist GPs and health professionals deliver the most current evidence based information about prominent women's health issues with emphasis on women at midlife.

Topics covered:

  • Assessment of the well woman at midlife

  • Menopause Management

  • Contraception

  • Violence against women

  • Emotional health and wellbeing

  • Sensitive examinations of women
    - Clinical Teaching Associates (CTA) Tutorial

Course Information:

  • The CTA Tutorial is a practical clinical session on conducting sensitive examinations (breast and pelvic) of women.
  • All participants receive a comprehensive women's health resource kit.
  • Lunch, morning and afternoon tea will be provided to all participants.
  • Participants are eligible for 40 Category 1 RACGP pts and ACRRM 6.5 PDP pts
  • Predisposing and Reinforcing activities are a required part of this course to qualify for CPD points.
    - Pre-reading material, pre and post course surveys will be sent to participants for completion.

Course Cost

The registration fee for the course is $675 plus GST, total cost $743.00.

Support:

  • Victorian rural GPs and registrars are eligible to apply to the Rural Workforce Agency of Victoria (RWAV) administered DHS CPD for rural GP subsidy program to subsidise registration, travel and accommodation costs.
  • Doctors recruited under the Victorian Overseas Trained Doctors Rural Recruitment Scheme (VORRS) have their course fees fully subsidised & are eligible to apply to the RWAV administered DHS CPD for rural GP subsidy program to subsidise travel and accommodation costs.
