Ruth is a Registered Nurse and Midwife with additional qualifications in Lactation Consultancy, Maternal and Child Health, Education and Business Management. She has a strong management background within the acute hospital sector, Victorian Organ Donation Agency and Local Government. Ruth's expertise in Maternal and Child Health services has won her industry awards for leadership and program initiatives. She has a special interest in the emotional health and support needs of women around the time of childbirth and the early childhood years.

Professor Jane Fisher BSc (Hons), PhD, MAPS
Professor Jane Fisher is an academic Clinical Psychologist with longstanding interests in the links between women’s reproductive health and mental health from adolescence to mid-life, in particular related to fertility, conception, pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. She has completed major epidemiological studies in clinical and community settings in Australia and Vietnam and nationally-funded intervention trials, and has supervised more than 30 research higher degree and postgraduate coursework projects to completion. She is an expert technical advisor to international agencies including the World Health Organization and the United Nations Population Fund.

Acting Medical Director Dr Elizabeth Farrell AM, MBBS, FRANZCOG, FRCOG
Dr Elizabeth Farrell AM is a gynaecologist and a founding member of Jean Hailes for Women’s Health, where she is now a Director and a Consultant at the Jean Hailes Medical Centre and Education Unit. She also heads the Menopause Unit at Monash Medical Centre and is an Adjunct Senior Lecturer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Monash University.
In January 2009, Dr Farrell was made a Member in the General Division of the Order of Australia (AM) for her services to women’s health, and in 2006 she received an inaugural Health Media Award. Dr Farrell was the president of the Australasian Menopause Society and the Asia Pacific Menopause Federation from 2008 to 2010, and chaired the organising committees for the 2010 Fourth Scientific Meeting of the Asia Pacific Menopause Federation and the 14th Australasian Menopause Society Congress. |
